 Orimattila Men’s Choir

The Orimattila Men’s Choir was founded with 15 members in 1938 under the direction of Jalmari Aalto. This year the choir celebrates its 75th anniversary with musical director Paavo Kiiski.

The choir performs a broad repertoire from several genres including: Finnish national pieces, traditional Finnish men’s choir music, spiritual and Christmas pieces, music for amusement and celebration, love serenades, and traditional drinking songs.

Orimattila Men’s Choir concerts are well attended and the choir cooperates often with local and national ensembles in Finland. In addition to their larger concerts, choir members make appearances in quartets and smaller choirs representing the larger ensemble.

Though they have toured internationally since the 1970s, the Orimattila Men’s Choir has more recently sung in Germany, Austria, Iceland, The United States, Hungary and Estonia. More maybe be read about the choir at
